GCPL has a variety of language resources that might be helpful to your bi-lingual parents and students. In the children's section, there is a variety of easy and juvenile books in Spanish and English.
For parents speaking only Spanish, there are several learning resources. Many branches offer "Let's Talk" programs which meet weekly and offer customers the opportunity to practice English conversation skills. In addition, several branches also offer "English Learn and Talk" sessions at different times throughout the year. For more information about these programs you can go to the library calendar for days and times. If you are interested in signing up for English Learn and Talk you can find that link here.
Our database, Mango Languages has 8 courses for Spanish speakers who would like to learn English. There are also numerous DVDs and Books on CD for ESL needs. In addition, parents may want to explore the Spanish language books--both fiction and nonfiction--in the adult collection.
