Q. I am a local writer, and I would like to donate some of my books to the library system. How might I go about doing so?


Thank you for your question.  Writers wanting their published work added to our collection should call 770-822-5364 and speak with someone in our Materials Management Department.  Gwinnett and Local authors will also be asked to fill out a form and provide the following details:

  • Author name and contact information

  • Title and brief summary of work submitted

  • Format (hardbackk, paperback, etc)

  • Please cite professional reviews your work has received

Works are typically acquired and accepted through author donation, and become the property of the library. Materials are promoted through full professional cataloging in the library's online catalog, and physical items are processed to allow for circulation by library customers. The library will also consider the inclusion of ebook and other digital formats. The author understands materials must reflect the general scope of the GCPL collection; not all submitted works will be accepted. Items may be removed from the collection at any time due to content, condition, or space considerations, and sold through the library’s used book vendor website.   

This form can be obtained from staff at any of the 15 branch locations.
