Q. How do I request a book that the Gwinnett County Public Library doesn't own?

Answer

You have two options when you are looking for an item and GCPL does not own it.

You can visit the library website and scroll down to the link "Can't Find It." When you reach the next page you can click the link for "Suggestions for the Collection."  The next page will contain a form that you can fill out with the information about the title you are looking for.

The other option you have is to request the item through the Interlibrary Loan process.  Click the link for "Catalog" at the top of the library home page.  Search for the item you are in need of and then click "Select Database."  On the pop up screen select "Interlibrary Loan" and then "Set Databases."  Conduct your search again and click the link that says "Add Pending Results."  When you see your title you will be able to click the Request Item button and then enter your library card and pin.

Interlibrary loan requests carry with them a $2.00 postage fee which is to be paid when the book arrives and is ready for pick up.

Please let us know if you have any questions about this process.
