Q. What is the Tech Studio, and how do I reserve it?
The TechStudio, located in the Five Forks Branch, provides access to software and equipment for video, music, photography, and design projects. If you are a videographer, graphic designer, or even a future rock star, the TechStudio has the software and equipment to turn your vision into a reality. With the technology in the Tech Studio, you can create and share music, podcasts, movies, and photo albums. You can design brochures, e-newsletters, business logos, and flyers. You can film, edit and upload interviews for genealogy projects. Your imagination is the architect in the Tech Studio. The tech studio is available during regular Five Forks Branch hours.
Designated staff can provide assistance with equipment and/or software. One-on-one instruction is available with advanced reservations. The TechStudio also offers a small selection of reference books. Customers are encouraged to explore the resources on the TechStudio LibGuide, by following the link below.

Reservations are preferred, but walk-in access may be permitted if TechStudio is not in use. TechStudio provides two stations that may be individually reserved. The Studio accommodates up to 6 people. Depending on need and availability, it is also possible for a group to reserve both stations simultaneously. TechStudio may be accessed by GCPL card holders in good standing who are 13 years of age and older and have standard Internet access. A reservation is for two hours; a one-hour extension is permitted if no one is waiting. Reservations will be held for 15 minutes. After that, TechStudio may be made available.
The Studio is available during regular Five Forks Branch hours. You can call AskGCPL at 770-978-5154 for reservation information. Customers are encouraged to bring personal external storage devices. Our 4GB USB flash drives are available for purchase for $3.00 and our 8GB flash drives are $6.00. Personal devices (such as guitar, keyboard or external hard drive) should connect via Firewire or USB.
