The library has to buy a license for each downloadable ebook, so we're only able to provide a limited number of "copies" of each ebook at a time. We do keep a close watch on the number of requests on print as well as electronic resources and purchase copies or licenses accordingly.
In order to find ebooks that you can download immediately, from the Overdrive home page click Collections and then click on Available Now. If you do join a waiting list, though, you will receive an email notification when your title is available for download. The title will be automatically checked out when it is available if this setting is selected on your account. Otherwise, you have two days to check out requested items when they become available for you.
