The library offers an excellent online tool called LearningExpress Library that may interest you. LearningExpress Library gives you access to online study guides and practice tests in dozens of subjects and grade levels, including a large section devoted to GED prep materials. You can also access resources related to computer software, workplace skill building, and U.S. citizenship.

Follow these steps to access LearningExpress Library from any internet-capable computer:

  • Start at the library's Digital Resources page
  • Scroll down to Learning Express Library in the alphabetical list
  • You may have to enter your library card number and PIN
  • Once you have entered Learning Express Library you will need to create an account with a username and password and provide an email address before you can access the practice tests on the databases
  • Once your accounts are set up, you can use that username and password for future logins
  • You can conduct a search in the search box at the top of the screen by typing in "GED" in the box labeled "Find Tests, Tutorials, eBooks"

You can stop and start tests and courses as needed and you have unlimited attempts to complete items

If you would like a 6-week online instructor-led course, Gale Courses is a good resource to choose.

You can also find Gale Courses on the Digital Resources page.

You also have access to Tutor.com with your library card. Be sure you access this resource through the library's web page rather than going there directly. The link to Tutor.com can also be found near the bottom of the Digital Resources page. You have access with your library card number and PIN. The tutors at Tutor.com can assist you with questions you have when preparing for the GED. They are available from noon to 8 pm every day.
