No. Unfortunately, the library had to end Kanopy service due to budget constraints.
Kanopy’s pricing increased significantly, nearly doubling compared to last year. Under the proposed 2026 terms, the cost would have been approximately $60,000.
In 2025, Kanopy was used by about 1,200 unique users, resulting in a per-user cost of roughly $50. Given a service population of more than one million residents, this represents a very low level of use and a comparatively high cost per user relative to our other digital resources.
In light of the $250,000 reduction to the materials budget required by the county’s 2026 funding allocation, we have made the decision to prioritize core collections—particularly print and electronic books—as well as digital resources with a stronger educational focus and broader community impact.
