AskGCPL: About GCPL

GCPL hosts a small collection of works created by authors living in and around Gwinnett County. The collection is maintained to showcase the works of lesser known local authors, including those who have presented or participated in library-sponsored events. The materials are available in a variety of formats, with eBook being our preferred format. They cover a wide range of subjects, and are written on all age levels; due to the unique nature of these titles, single copies are accepted and retained indefinitely. 

An author may request that his or her work be added to this special collection by completing this Local Authors Form. Authors with additional questions regarding the application process should contact the Customer Contact Center at 770-978-5154.

  2)    Title and brief Summary of work submitted, including genre (Romance, Mystery, Non-Fiction, etc.).

4) Please cite any professional reviews your work has received.

5) Works are typically acquired and accepted through author donation, and become the property of the library. Materials are promoted through cataloging in the library's online catalog, eBooks are uploaded to OverDrive, and physical items are processed to allow for circulation by library customers. The author understands  materials must reflect the  general scope of the GCPL collection; not all submitted works will be accepted. If the book is added to the collection it will be visible on the library’s public facing catalog.  Items may be removed from the collection at any time due to content, condition, or space considerations, and physical copies may be sold through the  library’s used book vendor website.

For eBook submissions, please email a copy of your book (Adobe epub or Adobe PDF) and a high quality jpeg of your book cover to jlajeunesse@gwinnettpl.org. Book covers are only included for ebooks, and they appear on the library’s ebook site.

For Print only submissions, please give a copy of this form with a donated copy of your book to any branch staff member.
