Does the library offer classes for learning English?

Answer

The Gwinnett County Public Library has two programs designed to assist customers with learning English as a second language.

One program, Conversations in English, is more informal and allows customers to practice their conversational skills.  Each session is organized around a particular topic and library staff facilitate conversation by presenting questions and information designed to get people comfortable talking in a group setting.

The other program, Basic English, is a more formal class at which learners are taught basic English with a staff member who speaks their native language.  GCPL currently offers this program for speakers of Spanish, Chinese and Japanese.

These programs are being held both virtually and in person now.  You may need to check the online calendar to see if registration is required - Calendar

You can also get free access to the online language learning platform Mango Languages with your library card. You can follow the link here.
