What is the Book a Librarian Program?

Thank you for your interest in the "Book A Librarian" Program! All 15 of our branches offer this service.

Library customers can book a one-on-one help session with a branch staff member to receive personalized assistance with information seeking, research projects, or technology questions. Appointments last 30-60 minutes and require at least 48 hours advance notice.

Assistance is available for a variety of topics, including:

  • research assistance

  • e-readers and tablets

  • downloadable media

  • email

  • job searching

  • resume creation

  • internet searching

  • basic assistance with Microsoft Office products and other software

  • using library databases

  • social media

  • reading recommendations

  • library catalog and account assistance

... and more!

Please note that the library does not provide medical, legal, investment, or tax advice; however staff will be happy to show you resources that can help with these topics. Library staff does not offer maintenance or troubleshooting of personal computers.

To make an appointment, stop by the kiosk at any of our branches to complete an appointment request or to ask about this service. You may also call 770-978-5154 and ask to speak with staff at any branch to request service.

Requests will receive a response within approximately 48 hours. Thank you for understanding that the branches cannot accommodate appointments without advance notice.
