Q. Simultaneous Use Resources Temporarily Available via Gwinnett County Public Library
Vendors and publishers have given customers of Gwinnett County Public Library access to resources that allow simultaneous use of eBooks and other materials on their sites. Students can access simultaneous use titles without waiting and without checkout limits. These are also streaming, not downloadable.
All of these resources are available until June 30, 2020 unless otherwise noted.
Lerner Books On this link, you’ll find a Prek-grade 5 collection of books with accompanying professional audio and a grades 6-12 collection (many of which also have accompanying audio). The grades 6-12 collection includes some titles that are High interest/Low vocabulary. There are filters on the left to determine reading level or interest level and click the red Apply Filter button at the bottom.
Big Timber Media There are four different collections listed, categorized by grade levels. The Grades 9-12 collection includes some titles that address LGBTQIA+ topics as well as diversity and differing perspectives. These eBooks do not have accompanying audio.
Sebco Ebooks The username and password are embedded in the link. Use 1 as the student id to access the free books. There is fiction as well as nonfiction for all age levels, many titles published in 2019 and 2020. The young adult collection is comprised mostly of classics but also includes some Britannica titles on math and science.
Junior Library Guild @ Home has different expiration dates on the eBooks and eAudiobooks, so check each one to see when it expires--it may be before June 30. There are three different collections. Elementary Stream, Middle School Stream, and High School Stream. Some are eBooks, and some are eAudiobooks.
Select Gale resources are available through the end of the school year. To log into these, there is a short form to fill out with the following information:

The New York Times Online includes lesson plans. Click Redeem, follow instructions for creating an account (if you do not already have one), then use the search tool to search “lesson plans.” Remember, you’ll have to visit the link above every 72 hours to regain access.
eRead Kids is a resource similar to the eBooks and eAudiobooks schools have available in Destiny. These are not simultaneous use ebooks, so students may have to place holds and wait for a title to become available. This resource is available through GALILEO.
