Can I use my own paper to print and make copies?

Our copy/print machines do allow for a variety of paper types but you will need to speak with a supervisor before putting your own paper into the machine.  

Acceptable paper types:

  • plain
  • heavy paper
  • embossed (bypass tray)
  • thin paper (bypass tray)
  • pre-printed
  • recycled
  • letterhead
  • pre-punched
  • color
  • labels (bypass tray)
  • glossy paper (bypass tray)
  • transparency (bypass tray)
  • tab paper (bypass tray)
  • envelope (bypass tray)

 

Paper that cannot be used:

  • Special media for an inkjet printer (fine paper, glossy paper, glossy film, fabric transfer, etc)
  • carbon paper or thermal paper
  • pasted paper
  • paper with clips
  • paper with fold marks
  • torn paper
  • oil-feed transparency film
  • this paper less than 15 lbs (55 g/m)
  • heavy paper as thick as 100 lbs cover (300 g/m)
  • irregularly shaped paper 
  • stapled paper
  • damp paper
  • curled paper
  • paper whose print side or reverse side has been already printed on by another printer
  • paper with a wave like pattern due to moisture absorption
  • paper with creases
  • paper with dust

Non-recommended paper:

  • iron-on transfer paper
  • perforated paper
