Where can I find assistance with basic needs including food, housing and addiction recovery?

Answer

Library staff have created a comprehensive guide that includes a listing of various organizations that provide different types of assistance.  Included on this list are resources for healthcare, housing, transportation, food, employment, addiction recovery and other services.  A link to this guide has been provided below.  If you are in need of additional assistance please feel free to call the library during open hours at 770-978-5154 and a staff member will be happy to help.

If you are in Gwinnett County you can also contact the OneStop 4 HELP by filling out the form linked here. Or call them at 770-822-8850.

All branches also have a self-service kiosk for updated social services benefits. Individuals can review, change, or renew their benefits including Medicaid, PeachCare for Kids®, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Childcare and Parent Services (CAPS), and Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).

A map of kiosk locations is located here.
