Can I renew a book on the day it is due without paying a fee?

Answer

Yes, you may renew your item on the day it is due.  In addition, if an item is renewed one day past due you will not incur any fines for this one day.  After the first day past due the fines are 20 cents per day.

Items may be renewed up to two times as long as there are no requests for them and your balance does not exceed $15. You may renew online by going to the library website and logging into your account using the Login link in the top right corner of the screen.

Once you are logged in, you will see a button with your name in the upper right corner of the page.  Click this button and you will see a link that says "Checkouts" in the drop down menu.  You can click this link to see your list of items checked out and look for the renew button for each title. You can also get to this page by clicking the on the My Bookshelf tab in the lower left corner of the screen which will send you to page showing your list of items checked out.

If you need help renewing items, you can visit a library branch or call the library at 770-978-5154 during open hours.

GCPL no longer has automated phone renewals at the number 770-822-5351
