If I freeze a book on hold, how is my position in the queue affected?

If you Freeze an item you have requested, your hold position is not affected.
You will continue to progress to the top of the queue as normally. The only thing that will change is the date the item will be held for you.
The request will appear as Inactive on your list of holds.
Example:
You request an item that has a waiting list.
You anticipate that you will be unable to pick up the book when it is held for you.
You choose to freeze the item until you know you will be available.
Your position continues to advance to the top position.
After you have advanced to the top of the queue, your request will remain at the top until it is un-frozen
On the date you login and un-freeze your request, if you are at the top of the queue, the request will be filled with the next available copy, the item will be shipped to your preferred branch and you will be notified when it is available for pick up.
Frozen holds automatically un-freeze after one year.
