Are AR books listed online ?

Can we find the AR books (required from School to read and have a specific code) online? When we search for a specific book, can we know if that book is an AR book and type the specific code at school to be tested?

Answer

The library catalog does not allow you to create an initial search for items by AR level. You must first start by searching for a specific book title in our catalog, then click on the title of the book to see if our catalog includes AR information for that item. If available, the AR levels will be listed under the Reading Level section which you will find under the description of the book. To find similar books at the same AR level, you can click on the AR number which will send you to a page showing a list of additional titles in our catalog at that level. From there, you can modify the AR range and/or grade level as needed.

You can use a database called AR BookFinder to find a list of book titles by AR level; the website for AR BookFinder is www.arbookfind.com. This site will allow you to search by title or book level.  Once you've located titles via the AR BookFinder site, you can search our catalog to see if we own those particular titles. Please note, this same website also provides additional information about each title including quiz codes that your child would use to take the test for a particular AR book he/she has read.

Some Gwinnett County schools may also have an online database that allows you to search based on AR level or book title. You may want to check with your child's media center to see if that is a service they have available to simplify the process of finding a list of books.
