Q. How do I request a book that the Gwinnett County Public Library doesn't own?
You have two options when you are looking for an item and GCPL does not own it.
You can visit the library website and scroll down to the link "Can't Find It" located under the column labeled "Contact" at the bottom right of the library's main page. When you reach the next page look for the link that says To Make a Suggestion, Click HERE, which is located under the heading "Suggestions for the Collection." The next page will contain a form that you can fill out with the information about the title you are looking for.
The other option you have is to request the item through the Interlibrary Loan process. This would be the process for titles that were published one or more years in the past. Click the link for "Can't Find It" once again and look for the link that says To Make a Request, Click HERE. Fill out the form with as much information as you know and then click Submit. Please note that Interlibrary Loan requests cannot be placed for audio and video materials or electronic books and audiobooks.
Please let us know if you have any questions about this process.
