All of my holds come in at the same time. How can I stop this from happening?

Answer

If you regularly request newer items and they routinely all come in around roughly the same time, you have the option to freeze your holds.  In order to freeze your holds you will need to login to your account, click on your name and then click on the hyperlinked number that appears above the holds column.

When you get to your holds page, you will see a box on the far right that says Cancel Hold.  There is an arrow next to Cancel Hold and if you click this you will see the option to Freeze.  This will place the hold on an inactive (frozen) status until you log back in and click the arrow to Unfreeze it.  There is not an option to enter a date to unfreeze so you have to login and manually do this.

Freezing a title will retain your place in line, so if you make it to number 1 in line while the hold is frozen, you will remain there until it is unfrozen.

Frozen titles automatically unfreeze after one year.
