I received a fine notice for a damaged book but I did not cause the damage. How can I get the charge removed?

Answer

If you have been charged a damaged fee for an item and you are not responsible for the damage you will need to go back to the branch at which the item was returned and speak with someone on staff.  You can let them know that you did not cause the damage and they can work with you regarding the fees.

In addition, if you notice that an item is damaged at the time you are checking it out, please notify someone on staff as soon as possible to avoid being charged for the damage.  You can notify someone before you leave the library or you can give us a call at 770-978-5154 and staff can add notes to the item and to your account to make sure that you are not charged
