Q. What is the Learning Lab, and how do I reserve it?
The Learning Labs, located in the Centerville, Five Forks, Lilburn, and Hamilton Mill branches, provide access to software and equipment for video, music, photography, and design projects. If you are a videographer, graphic designer, or even a future rock star, the Learning Lab has the software and equipment to turn your vision into a reality. With the technology in the Learning Lab, you can create and share music, podcasts, movies, and photo albums. You can design brochures, e-newsletters, business logos, and flyers. You can film, edit and upload interviews for genealogy projects. Your imagination is the architect in the Learning Lab.

Reservations are preferred, but walk-in access may be permitted if the Learning Lab is not in use. The Learning Lab provides two stations that may be individually reserved. The room accommodates up to 6 people. Depending on need and availability, it is also possible for a group to reserve both stations simultaneously. A reservation is for two hours; a one-hour extension is permitted if no one is waiting. Reservations will be held for 15 minutes. After that, the Learning Lab may be made available to someone else.
To check availability and make a reservation for the Learning Lab, simply click Meeting and Rental Space which is located under Library Info when you hover your cursor over the blue Find It box on the front page of the library website. Customers are encouraged to bring personal external storage devices, but you can purchase a 16GB flash drive for $6.00 if needed. Personal devices (such as guitar, keyboard or external hard drive) should connect via Firewire or USB.
